Rogers announces magazine overhaul, will stop printing 4 publications

TORONTO – Rogers Communications has announced an overhaul of its magazines that will see Flare, Sportsnet, MoneySense and Canadian Business disappear from store shelves and move to online only.

In addition, magazines including Maclean’s, Chatelaine and Today’s Parent will reduce their number of print editions.

The company says the changes will take effect in January.

Rogers says the decision is in response to declining print revenue, adding that advertisers are moving increasingly to digital platforms.

It says its print revenue plunged more than 30 per cent, year-over-year.

Rogers is the parent company of 570 News.
