Kitchener woman charged after crash on Homer Watson

Some heavy delays for motorists after a serious crash on Homer Watson Boulevard shut down southbound lanes for several hours on Monday afternoon.

Regional Police say the crash happened around 1:20 p.m. at the intersection of Homer Watson and Doon South.

A transport truck was at the intersection when a white Ford Fusion attempted to make a left turn, but ended up ramming into the front of the truck and sending it into a nearby traffic signal pole.

Lanes on Homer Watson were shut down for most of the afternoon and both drivers were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the 47-year-old Kitchener driver of the Ford Fusion has been charged with careless driving.
