A tense afternoon for students at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute in Kitchener after reports of an armed man walking toward the school.
Regional police say a witness spotted the man walking toward the school on Church Street holding what they believe was a knife and a baseball bat.
Police Spokesperson Cherri Greeno says the school was placed under hold and secure around 1:45p.m., and lasted nearly 45 minutes.
“Police arrived, they checked the area and determined the suspect was no longer in the area, so the hold and secure measure was lifted.”
Officers are looking for a man described as white, believed to be in his 20’s and he was seen wearing camouflage pants and a white and red t-shirt.
