Cambridge multiplex survey results released

Plenty of people have lots to say about the proposed multiplex in Cambridge.

A task force struck by the city reviewed some of the findings of an online survey last night.

All told, there were over 1,700 responses.

Most dealt with the location, which is at the centre of the debate.

The proposed location is on land leased from Conestoga College south of the 401.

Many residents have been vocal in their opposition, arguing the facility should be more centrally located.

Today’s Record reports, the survey found 85 per cent of those who participated want it located within a 15 to 20 minute drive from most homes and over 90 per cent maintain most people should be able to get to it by taking public transportation.

The estimated cost of the facility is up to $80-million.

Another task force meeting is scheduled for October 13th.
