The Region of Waterloo says it won’t be mailing out any social assistance cheques for now due to the threat of a strike at Canada Post.
The cheques are available for pick up only. Normally they would have been mailed out this week.
They can now be picked up at the Regional Community Services offices:
-99 Regina Street South in Waterloo
-150 Main Street in Cambridge
Those who receive their payments via direct deposit are not impacted.
