Olympics Roundup: A winning Tuesday for Pavan, Zadorsky & Zeeman

Tuesday was a great day for our local athletes at the Rio Olympics:
-Kitchener raised soccer player Shelina Zadorsky was part of that historic win over Germany. Canada beat Germany 2-1 to finish pool play 3 and 0. They will face France in the quarterfinals on Friday night
-Cambridge rower Carling Zeeman is through to the semi-finals in single sculls. Zeeman was third in her heat in Tuesday’s quarter-finals. She finished with a time of 7:34.52. The semis are scheduled for Thursday at 8:30am ET
-Kitchener’s Sarah Pavan and Waterdown’s Heather Bansley improved to 2 and 0 in beach volleyball with a straight sets win over a team from Switzerland Tuesday night. They wrap up pool play against a German team on Thursday
