Entenza leads Panthers to a 2-0 series lead over Cardinals

The Kitchener Panthers are coming back home with a big 2-0 series lead in their best-of-seven first round series against the Hamilton Cardinals.

The Panthers never trailed in this game and won 6-2 in Hamilton.

Noelvis Entenza went seven strong innings of four hit ball giving up only one run, striking out seven. It’s his first career post-season win.

Center Fielder Tanner Nivins and Shortstop Mike Glinka both hit solo shots. Nivins added a single in the ninth inning, which would have been his second home run of the night but the lead runner, Mike Glinka thought the ball was caught and Nivins passed the lead runner. IBL rules indicate Glinka scores and Nivins is called out but still gets credit for a single. David Whiteside went two-for-three on the night.

Cardinals hitter, Dre Celestijn was the lone bright spot for Hamilton. He hit a single and a solo home run finishing the night 2-for-4.

The Panthers and Cardinals are back at it tonight for game three at Jack Couch Park. First pitch flies at 7 p.m.
