Charges laid in April fire in Waterloo

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a man with arson after an explosion and house fire earlier this spring.

It happened on Christopher Drive in Waterloo on April 30th.

A 37-year-old man was in the home at the time of the explosion and was air-lifted to hospital with major burns.

The home was also completely destroyed by fire. It caused $300,000 damage.

Police now say Lance Rees of Wilmot Township is charged with arson and production of a controlled substance.
