More land still for sale at old Kitchener Utilities site

The site that housed the old Kitchener Utilities building on Ottawa Street is looking for some new tenants.

A Hamilton-based developer purchased the 12-acre site, across from McLennan Park, for over $7.6 million last August.

The Record reported today that cleanup and site remediation are almost complete.

One of the three parcels has been sold to an apartment developer and the realtor handling the sale tells the paper there has been good interest in the remaining parcels of land.

Construction could likely start next year.

The contaminated waste crews removed from the property included bricks, zinc and rubber.
