Ontario commits over $800,000 to improve health care services at Cambridge Memorial Hospital

It’s another move towards improving our health care at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

As the facility undergoes a $187 million transformation, the province is ensuring services are up to speed while it’s being renovated.

Cambridge MPP Kathryn McGarry says the hospital will receive $828,053 in funding from the Ontario government.

”That includes over $347,346 to increase the number of patients that can receive the quality-based procedures such as cataract surgeries or hip replacements and knee replacements,” said McGarry.

A former nurse at CMH for many years, McGarry adds it’s a win for our entire community.

”These investments are really exciting for my local hospital and I’m very proud of the work that they’ve done here, not only to rebuild the hospital, and that’s underway, but also with some of the quality care that Cambridge residents have come to expect in our hospital.”

In 2016-17, the government is investing $51.8 billion through its Patients First: Action Plan for Health Care.
