Two Ontario men found guilty of murder in killing of Tim Bosma

HAMILTON – Tim Bosma’s widow says she and her family have already begun serving a life sentence for crimes committed by others.

Sharlene Bosma says Dellen Millard and Mark Smich have begun their punishment today after a jury found them guilty of first-degree murder in her husband’s death.

Justice Andrew Goodman sentenced both men to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years, minus time served, but Sharlene Bosma says she and her family began their own life sentence in 2013 when Tim Bosma died.

The young father died after leaving with Millard and Smich to test drive a truck he had listed online.

The Crown successfully argued at trial that Smich and Millard shot Bosma and incinerated his body as part of a long-standing plan to steal a truck and kill someone along the way.

Sharlene Bosma describes Millard and Smich as the “utter depths of depravity in our society.”

She says they lost their freedom through their own evil actions and says the police officers and lawyers who brought them to justice remain in her prayers.

She says she remains thankful for the four and a-half years she spent with her husband and for the daughter they had together.
