Annual Graffiti Car Show in St. Jacobs

Hundreds of motor heads will head to St. Jacobs for the annual Graffiti Car Show.

Ken Thomas is Chairman of the Graffiti Car Show for the Highwaymen Car Club and tells us about the event.

“We get all kinds of custom made cars coming to our show. We’ve held this every year for the past 50 years and it’s always a great time. We expect between 400 and 500 cars at the event, and we get cars from right around the province. People come from all around to attend this show because of the quality, custom cars that come out.”

Thomas says the show offers more than just cars, and also features live music, food, cash prizes and awards.

“The Children’s Wish Foundation has been the major charity that we hold this event for– it’s been 15 years now that we’ve been collaborating with them. Although donations and proceeds help the Foundation, if you come out with your vehicle– there are cash prizes and stuff like that available, like everyone registering a vehicle will be eligible to win one of the draws for $50.00 cash prizes. We also provide awards and have lots of prizes– so the people coming to get to go home with some hardware.”

Thomas says you can pre-register or sign-up your car on Sunday. General admission is free but a monetary donation to the Children’s Wish Foundation is appreciated.

“It’s just a great time and we hope everyone can come out. It’s a fun event for anyone and everyone and is very inclusive.”

The Graffiti Car Show runs Sunday, June 12th at The Waterloo Rod & Gun Club in St. Jacobs from 8 am until 12 pm.
