Kitchener company adds 15 news jobs thanks to province

Local company Ampacet Canada is creating 15 new jobs.

Our provincial government is giving Ampacet a $400,000 boost to add the jobs and keep 73 other positions.

The company manufactures colour and additive concentrates used in plastic products such as packaging. They supply product to around 90 countries.

MPP for Kitchener Centre, Daiene Vernile was on hand for the announcement Tuesday.

“Ampacet is an important employer in Waterloo Region and a vital part of Ontario’s manufacturing base,” Vernile said in a release. “Today’s announcement advances Ontario’s economic strategy to foster long-term growth and job creation. I look forward to hearing about the positive impact this project will bring now and in the future.”

The cash is from the Province’s Southwestern Ontario Development Fund. It will help the company invest in new equipment and boost productivity.

Robert Fielding with Ampacet was excited to continue its expansion in Kitchener.

“This support from the Ontario government complements our ongoing growth strategy,” said Fielding. “The project will give us the expanded space to increase production and the talent to develop and produce new innovative products that will help us compete and succeed globally.”
