29-year old Kitchener man charged with murder back in court Thursday

A Kitchener man charged with murder after October’s arrow shooting is saying little.

29-year-old Eric Amaral was back in court yesterday via video from the Maplehurst jail in Milton.

The Record reports Amaral gave his name and acknowledged he’s back in court next Thursday but that was about it.

He’s charged with first-degree murder in the death of Michael Gibbon who was out walking on Margaret Ave when he was hit by an arrow across from Breithaupt Park.

Amaral is also charged with shooting a police officer with a pellet gun after being pulled over on Ottawa Street.
