Man wanted by WRPS crashes car, tries to flee on TTC in Toronto

A man who was already wanted by Waterloo Regional Police crashed a car in Toronto on Tuesday morning, then tried to flee on a TTC streetcar.

The man, believed to be in his 40’s, allegedly crashed his car into a pole before ending up on the front lawn on a River Street church.

He was taken into custody at Sumach and Gerrard streets, a few blocks away, around 1:15 a.m.

He was taken to hospital to be examined.

The man is facing several charges in Toronto, including failing to remain. It’s not yet known why he was wanted in Waterloo.
