Rangers swept by Knights

It just wasn’t in the cards for the Kitchener Rangers.

For the third straight game, Kitchener blew a lead, losing 6-4 to London, giving the Knights the sweep in the Western Conference Semi-Final.

The Rangers had a two goal lead heading into the third period. Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Mitch Marner had another strong performance with three goals and one assist.

Darby Llewellyn had a pair of goals for the Rangers.

Rangers overager Brandon Robinson says he had an amazing time playing in the OHL: “You know it’s the quickest five years of your life, but it’s also the best five years of your life…I’m going to have memories of my five years forever.”

Robinson and Adam Mascherin tied for the team lead in goals in the playoffs, both had six. Jeremy Bracco led the way in points with 14. He had a goal and assist in the final game on Thursday.

“…I’m proud of these guys, couldn’t think of a better team to go to war with…They were just a lot of fun to coach this year.” added Rangers Head Coach Mike Van Ryn.

Van Ryn says his team came along way and was pushed to new levels.

The Rangers will host their annual awards ceremony at The Kitchener Aud on Saturday at 7pm. Doors open at 6:20.
