A local woman battling cancer has a chance to make it to the big leagues

It’s part of a major league baseball initiative to go to bat against breast cancer.
Each team is running a vote for the honourary bat-girl to take place on Mother’s Day.
Cam Linwood plays baseball with Melissa Kolesar and he says Melissa is a huge baseball fan who is always helping others.
“She’s a big supporter of breast cancer awareness in general, Linwood says she’s helped raise tens of thousands of dollars over the years in a number of different events and last September, she found out that she herself is diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.”
