Truck lands in sinkhole in Kitchener, driver not hurt

A large sinkhole has swallowed up a truck on Strasburg Road between Trillium Drive and Battler Road in Kitchener.

The road is closed as Waterloo Regional Police continue to work to remove the vehicle, the driver was not injured.

The sinkhole developed following a water main break in the area.

Staff Sgt. Perry Cort telling it’s not a typical call they receive.

“Very quite unusual call for us, especially for a sink hole, but it does happen…”

That stretch of Strasburg from Trillium to Battler is expected to be closed for most of the day.
