Witnesses to testify in Tim Bosma trial in Hamilton

The trial of two men accused of killing Tim Bosma after going for a test drive in his truck continues Tuesday afternoon with more testimony from Crown witnesses.

Dellen Millard, 30, of Toronto, and Mark Smich, 28, from Oakville, have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges in the death of the Hamilton man.

Bosma disappeared on the night of May 6, 2013 after taking two strangers on a test drive of a black Dodge Ram pickup truck he was trying to sell.

His body was found more than a week later burned beyond recognition.

The Crown alleges Bosma was shot inside his truck and later his body was burned in an incinerator.

The owner of an auto body shop testified Monday that Millard called in a rush job to have a black pickup painted red two days after Bosma disappeared. But Tony Diciano said the order was cancelled the next day and he never worked on the truck.

One of Bosma’s neighbours also told the court he saw a dark pickup truck and another dark vehicle pull out from a field near his property sometime between 9:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on May 6, 2013 — not long after Bosma left his home.
