The community of Guelph is getting soaked for a good cause today!

People are plunging into cold water today to raise awareness and funds for athletes attending the 2016 Special Olympics Provincial Spring Games in Guelph.

Guelph Police Chief Jeff DeRuyter tells 570 News he’s ready for today’s event!

“I am extrememly nervous, it’s pretty rare for me to get into our Great Lakes before August…I’m not really fan of cool water, let alone cold water, so this is going to be a leap of faith.”
