Inclusion awards to be handed out Friday

THEMUSEUM and Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region will be hosting the 5th annual Inclusion awards tonight.

The event was created by EAFWR, a not-for-profit organization that serves all of Waterloo Region for families or individuals who have a son or daughter, or are a son or daughter, of someone with a developmental disability.

“The awards started because we wanted to recognize everyone in the community that was living a life of inclusion, that had gone above and beyond to make sure what they did was a way that was inclusive for everyone in the community,” said Rochelle Barber, Communications Co-ordinator for EAFWR.

Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Waterloo Regional Police Chief Bryan Larkin and Juno-nominated artist Alysha Brilla will be performing.

Doors open at 6pm.
