Funeral for longtime Guelph referee Bill Devorski to be held Saturday

Longtime Guelph hockey referee Bill Devorski has passed away.

He lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday. Devorski was 85.

Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at Gilbert McIntyre & Son Funeral Home at 252 Dublin Street North
in Guelph.

Bill’s funeral will take place Saturday at 10:30am at The Basilica of Our Lady.

Devorski officiated at all levels of the Ontario Hockey Association for 35 years. He was also one of seven founding members of the Guelph Hockey Referees Association. He’s a member of both the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame and University of Guelph Gryphons Hall of Fame.

Two of his son’s also went onto to ref in the National Hockey League.
