Woman arrested after Kitchener cenotaph vandalized

Waterloo Regional Police are crediting a tip from a resident with helping them make an arrest after the cenotaph at Frederick and Duke in Kitchener was defaced.

Police say they were alerted to the incident just after 3pm on Monday.

Police say a woman was spotted hanging dirty clothing on the flags and writing on the stone with a marker. An arrest was made a short time later.

Police say there was damage to the flags and stone, although no dollar figure is available.

45-year-old Lorie Lee Noble of Kitchener is charged with mischief under $5,000 and theft under $5,000.
