Regional Council approved a snow clearing contract for Grand River Transit bus stops.
Forestell will now be responsible for about 2,500 bus stops in Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and the Woolwich Township.
Eric Gillespie Director of Transit Services spoke with 570 News.
“We’re turning the full responsibility over to them based on the service standard. So the service standard is: if there’s 50mm, more than two inches of snow, they’ve got to come out, and within 72 hours clear it out down to the pavement.”
Forestell will also be responsible for any pre-work that is needed when heavy snow or freezing rain is in the forecast.
