Police warn about fake Oktoberfest tickets

Be sure to check the validity of your ticket before heading out festing this year!

Regional Police say there have been some cases of individuals unknowingly purchasing fake tickets.

Spokesperson Alana Holtom tells 570 News the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest ticket office can help you out if you’re unsure.

“If they aren’t official tickets, a person may be left without access to the event and if they purchased them from an unofficial source they’ll have no way to get their money back. So in addition to ruining their Oktoberfest experience, they would also be out the money they had used to purchase the tickets.”

She adds they are also warning vendors to keep an eye out for counterfeit currency.

Anyone with information related to counterfeit money or Oktoberfest Tickets is requested to call the Waterloo Regional Police Service at 519-653-7700 and file a report, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
