Sunlife and Rangers partnership continues to help kids

Sunlife Financial and the Kitchener Rangers continue to partner to help kids in our region.

Today both are partnering for a private skate with the Rangers: the annual Sunlife Financial Skate with the Rangers in support of the Kids in Gear program.

The program helps kids who may not have the financial means to take part in organized sports by collecting funds and equipment.

Director of Sponsorships at Sunlife Financial, Karine Zanier, tells 570 News how your donations help.

“The equipment is collected an is sold to local sports stores that provides credit to purchase new equipment for both the Kitchener Minor Hockey Association and the Donna’s Kids program. It also allows us to cover some registration fees some families may not be able to cover themselves.”

Throughout the 2014-15 season, the program raised $54,000 in monitary and equipment donations which helped get 167 local kids out on the ice.
