GoFundMe page created to help support family of Kitchener man who died in a crash this weekend

Friends of Andrew Hackbart, have created a GoFundMe page in hoping the community will help his young family.

The GoFundMe page called “In Loving Memory of Andrew Hackbart” went up last night, and has already raised over $6,000.

The 27-year-old Kitchener man died early Sunday morning after his jeep crashed into a hydro pole on Fairway Rd.

He leaves behind a one-and-a-half year-old daughter.

Family friend, Isha Austen, helped create the page she says she wanted to help, but wasn’t sure how.

“It really seemed like everyone wanted to help, they just didn’t know how. And that’s how we felt too so it’s great people have an outlet to be able to help if they want to.”

Friends, family, and other community members have been posting thoughtful comments on the page that has been shared almost 500 times.

“We’ve been getting a lot of support through different work, employees, and people who’ve just met him and Sara and his mom through various outlets. It’s just great having a method to help if you’d like.”
