Police investigating assault and robbery in University area

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after a 28-year-old man was robbed and assaulted in the University Avenue area of Waterloo.

Police say the victim was walking on Regina Street near University Avenue at around 12:29 on Saturday afternoon. Two males came up from behind the victim and assaulted him, before taking his wallet which contained numerous credit cards.

The two suspects were seen fleeing towards University Avenue. Police say it was heavily populated in the area due to homecoming.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect 1 Male, black, 5 foot 10, late teens – early 20s, big black glasses, short dark hair, wearing jeans and a sweater.

Suspect 2
 Male, black, tall, thin build, no clothing description.

Police say no weapon was used in the altercation and the victim sustained minor injuries.
