New Bike Share location launches in Waterloo

Travelling around the Region will be a little more convenient and eco-friendly as of Sunday afternoon. The community access program Bike Share is launching it’s ninth location in Uptown Waterloo starting at 2:30 PM.

Bike Share stations are at several Downtown Kitchener locations, as well as one in front of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo.

Suzie Taka, coordinator of the Bike Share program, told 570 news that the popularity of the program has been growing because it’s an easy option for getting around Kitchener-Waterloo.

“It takes a lot of the work out of it for people. You don’t have to worry about storing them or maintain them. It’s an environmentally friendly and affordable option.”

Taka said to use a bike, customers need a membership – pro-rated ones are available for the rest of the season – and members can pick up and drop off to any of the 9 locations.
