A group of California filmmakers are looking for a bit of help getting their Oktoberfest movie off the ground.
The filmmakers, who used to work at an Oktoberfest hall in Torrence Cal., want to make a film that will capture the authentic party atmosphere of the Bavarian festival.
The group is using crowd funding site, Kick-Starter to help fund the “The Oktoberfest Movie: A Fest Above The Rest.”
According to writer, direct Paul J. Porter, they are calling on Oktoberfester’s from all over to help get the movie made, “The Oktoberfest Movie, is a film for Oktoberfest fans, by Oktoberfest fans, we rely on the Oktoberfest audience from around the world to bring this thing to life, and Kick-Starter was the best option for that.”
Porter adds that with every donation you receive a gift back from the movie producers.
$100 gets you an official movie beer stein, and for a donation of $2,000 you land a speaking role in the movie.
So far they have raised just over $11,000 of the $50, 000 goal. Porter hope the movie can be completed in the fall of 2016, just before next years Oktoberfest.
