Six dead in plane crash during sightseeing trip on Quebec’s North Shore

LES BERGERONNES, Que. – Quebec provincial police say all six people aboard a seaplane that crashed on the province’s North Shore have died.

Police say the Air Saguenay plane went down in a wooded area on Sunday afternoon, six kilometres from the community of Les Bergeronnes.

Authorities announced late today that all six people aboard had been found and their bodies handed over the coroner’s office.

An Air Saguenay official said the Beaver seaplane was taking part in a routine sightseeing flight departing from Lac Long in Tadoussac.

He said the flight was only supposed to last 20 minutes and the conditions were excellent when the plane crashed on Sunday.

Police and the Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
