The Eric Drozd Show
Wednesday August 15th 2015 - 11am 11:00 AM – Shannon Dea, Director of Women’s Studies at the University of Waterloo Toronto’s mayor is calling for the cancellation of a show by an American blogger who says rape should be legalized on private property. Daryush Valizadeh goes by the name Roosh V. – and those online say his comments amount to hate speech, are anti-feminist, promote violence, harassment and hatred. He travels to various cities giving what he calls “men’s self-help workshops” and he’s also the author of a book called “Bang”, a book he describes as a quote “textbook for picking up girls.” Through his blog and speaking appearances, Valizadeh advises men on the best methods to convince women to have sex with them. This is the last stop of a six-city tour for Roosh V. He was met with backlash and protests last weekend when he performed in Montreal. 11:30 AM – Allan O’Dette, President of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Prime Minister Stephen Harper are ramping up their war of words over the Liberal government’s new provincial pension plan. As Wynne was unveiling details of the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan in Toronto, Harper went out of his way to slam the idea as “an enormous tax increase” during a campaign event in nearby Markham. The prime minister said it would be bad for the economy and bad for jobs, noting small businesses have warned they’ll have to cut jobs to meet the extra costs of a new pension plan. The Ontario Chamber of Commerce is supportive of the Liberal government’s plan – saying that the current ORPP would have a negative impact on business. Aug 12, 2015, 09:29 AM
