Local ballplayers get surprise visit from Blue Jays

It was anything but ordinary when a couple of local baseball players squared off at Bechtel Park.

The Waterloo Tigers and Kitchener Panthers were tied in the fifth inning when out of nowhere, the Toronto Blue Jays’ cleanup crew came out to fix up the field.

Not too long after, several of the Jays’ past and present players showed up, too: Ryan Goins, Kevin Pillar, Roberto Alomar, and the team’s mascot Ace.

The surprise was part of Home Hardware’s Double Play Giveaway contest.
