Zimbabwe alleges a 2nd American killed a lion with bow and arrow in illegal hunt months ago

HARARE, Zimbabwe – Authorities in Zimbabwe allege that a second American killed a lion in an illegal hunt with a bow and arrow several months ago, amid an international outcry over a U.S. hunter accused of illegally killing a well-known lion named Cecil in early July.

The National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority issued a statement Sunday saying the second American was involved in an illegal bow and arrow hunt of a lion in April.

Zimbabwean authorities have earlier said they are seeking the extradition of Minnesota dentist Walter James Palmer, alleging he illegally killed the lion named Cecil a month ago. Palmer has said he relied on his professional guides to ensure the hunt was legal.
