Trudeau says he’s ready for Maclean’s debate

The Maclean’s National Leader debate is happening this Thursday and the national party leaders are beginning to express their excitement.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper, NDP Leader Tom Mulcair, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau and Green Leader Elizabeth May will be participating in the debate which will be moderated by Maclean’s political editor Paul Wells.

The leaders will be hoping to land a knock-out punch on their opponents and get them revved up. Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau said he’s looking forward to the debate, and plans to target Stephen Harper on the economy.

“He’s shown over 10 years that he has the worst growth record of any Prime Minister since R.B. Bennett in the depths of the great depression in the 30’s. He hasn’t figured out how to create growth in our modern economy, especially now that oil has fallen and his plan has completely failed Canadians.”

Trudeau also said that he’s been preparing for this for the last two years.

You can watch the debate live on our website starting at 8 PM.
