U of W part of multi-million dollar federal grant to build computer farm

The University of Waterloo has received a multi-million dollar cash injection from the federal government to build a massive computer farm.
The university will share in the $30 million dollar grant with The University of Victoria and Simon Fraser University. The money will be used to install 11,000 servers in a former BlackBerry building.
The servers will be part of a national computer research network and are expected to be operational by the end of next year.
