Police investigating sexual assault in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating an early morning sexual assault at a Kitchener home this morning.
A woman found a man in the bedroom of her Overlea Drive home around 5:30 AM this morning.
Regional Police Staff Sgt. Mike Haffner tells 570 news what happened next.
“The adult female awoke to the male inside her residence, inside her bedroom, an altercation ensued. As a result, the man fled towards Eagen Drive.”
Haffner said police responded but unfortunately, were unable to locate the male.
The suspect is described as 5″5 and last seen wearing a navy blue sweatshirt, black sweat pants and gloves.
Police want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the neighbourhood this morning.
