Cambridge’s Zeeman wins gold at Pan Am Games

Cambridge’s Carling Zeeman has won gold for Canada in the Women’s Singles Skulls Final.

Zeeman was more than seven seconds ahead of the competition with a winning time of seven minutes 30.86 seconds.

Liz Fenje and Katherine Sauks won Canada’s second rowing gold medal of the day on Tuesday, taking the women’s lightweight double sculls.

Fenje, from Victoria and Sauks, from Owen Sound, Ont., won with a time of six minutes 57.23 seconds.

Mark de Jonge claimed gold in the K-1 200 metres and Jason McCoombs won silver in the Men’s C-1 200m.

Canada now has 21 gold and 46 medals in total.
