No new teacher talks planned

Concern about the start of the school year as there are no new talks planned between the province and two key teachers’ unions, OSSTF and the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario.

The President of the Ontario Public School Boards Association tells the Toronto Star, talks have been stalled for about two months, and the situation is not looking very hopeful at this point.

Both public elementary and secondary school teachers have threatened to cut extra-curricular activities starting this fall.

The Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association is bargaining, although it has filed for conciliation.
