Waterloo region celebrates Canada Day

It’s Canada’s 148th birthday and the tri-cities are getting ready to party.

Canada Day festivities will be taking place all over the Waterloo region today to celebrate our nation’s history and enjoy the first statutory holiday of summer.

In Kitchener, City Hall is hosting a celebratory event that will offer food and entertainment for the public starting at 4 p.m.
The University of Waterloo will also be hosting their annual event today, that features musical acts, a beer garden presented by Waterloo Brewing and fireworks at Colombia Lake that start at 10 p.m.

If you’re looking for a parade to attend this Canada Day, Cambridge is the place to be this afternoon.
Cambridge is home to Canada’s largest Canada Day parade, which starts at 1pm on King Street at Bishop.
Cambridge residents can also visit Riverside Park tonight to enjoy fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
