Top picks for summer reads

Summer vacation plans are in full swing and many Canadians are starting to pack up that beach bag. Towels, snacks and sunscreen are a must, and of course, some great books.

David Worsley is co-owner of Words Worth Books in Uptown Waterloo and says that although downloadable books are convienent for some readers, people of substance are still going out and purchasing the real thing.

Worsley’s top three recommendations for a good summer-read include Station Eleven, Where the Air is Sweet and The Gold Finch.
For kids and teens he recommends Canadian writer Eric Walter’s Walking Tall and also suggests Loot by Jude Wilson.
