Kitchener man given suspended sentence for knocking another man out

A Kitchener man who pleaded guilty after delivering a one-punch knockout at a country bar has received a suspended sentence.

26-year-old Ashton Wells faces one year of probation, a five-year weapons ban and has to provide a D-N-A sample to the national databank.

His lawyer also says Wells is taking counselling for anger management.

The punch left another man unconscious on the dance floor of the Stampede Corral last August.

The man was taken to hospital in a neck brace and with a possible concussion.
