GRCA reminding residents to use caution around rising water levels this weekend

With heavy rain and high winds expected to hit the region this weekend, the Grand River Conservation Authority is reminding residents to use caution around rising water levels.

They say wet soil conditions combined with the anticipated rainfall will result in heavy runoff to local watercourses.

Flows are expected to remain above normal summer levels throughout the weekend.

Recreational river users such as canoeists and kayakers should be aware of the higher flows, and parents are encouraged to keep their children and pets away from slippery rivers and creeks.
