McCrae statue to be unveiled this morning in Guelph

Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae will be honoured this morning as the Guelph Civic Museum celebrates the 100th anniversary of ‘In Flanders Fields’.
McCrae was born in Guelph, and wrote the historic poem in 1915.
At 10:30am, a statue of McCrae will be dedicated in honour of the anniversary.
Manager of Cultural Affairs and Tourism with the City of Guelph, Ella Pauls tells 570 News, McCrae means a lot to the city.
“He attended Guelph Central School here and we are obviously very proud of him because of his dedication as a poet, gunner and physician.”
