A 30 year old Meaford, man has been arrested in relation to an act of vandalism at the Regional Police Service’s North Division.
Public Affairs Coordinator, Olaf Heinzel, explains what happened.
“Back in early April, a male had walked to the front of our building in North Division in Waterloo, and had done some property damage to the statues we have out front, the lion and the lamb. Since then we have been conducting an investigation into who was responsible.”
The statues had a red substance poured over them, that police say was jam.
Heinzel says the lion and the lamb are symbolic of police service.
The man is charged with mischief under $5000 and released on a Promise to Appear in court next month.
