Local tavern transformed for Stephen King series starring James Franco

Queens Tavern in Ayr will be transformed into a 1958 bar for an upcoming Stephen King miniseries.

11.22.63 stars James Franco and is based on a book with the same name.

It tells the story of a man who goes back in time and tries to stop the assassination of J.F.K.

Owner Mary Ann Melnychuk says crews will arrive on Sunday and being taking things off the wall and re-decorating to fit a 1958 setting.

She says crews will be leaving on Friday night.

Melnychuck says the Tavern has been home to Hollywood before and says her bar has an older and interesting feel that is appealing for some films.

The production company says filming will take place on June 11 and Melnychuk says she has been told Franco will be in town.

She is hoping Stephen King will also be here making one of his famous cameos.
