3rd annual Kitchener Bikefest taking over city hall today

The 3rd annual Kitchener Bikefest is taking over city hall today.

Starting at 11a.m., you can have your bike tuned up, learn some safety tips and participate in free community bike rides.

Danny Pimentel with the City of Kitchener tell 570News Bikefest is all about celebrating the simple bicycle.

“It’s a way to bring cycling to the forefront and a way to get people out just to celebrate cycling and to get familiar with different cycling shops, different programs and a way to get excited about cycling.”

The event runs until 3 p.m. and will also feature food trucks and a kid’s bike giveaway.

College Street in Kitchener will be closed from King St to Duke St from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. today for the event.
