AUDIO: Regional committee votes in favour of bi-weekly trash collection

A regional committee has voted in favour of reducing curbside garbage collection.
All councillors will the exception of Sue Foxton voted to reduce garbage pickup with bi-weekly collection and a limit of 4 bags per household.
Recycling and green bin collections will continue every week.
The decision will be presented to council on June 3rd for approval.
The changes are expected to save the region up to $1.5 million dollars. An amendment put forth by Regional Councillor, Sean Strickland ensures that savings will go towards reducing the 2017 operating budget.
