Wiggle, waggle and walk for the KW Humane Society

Victoria Park has gone to the dogs!
The 10th annual Wiggle Waggle Walkathon takes place today to raise fund for the KW Humane Society.

Event Manager with the KW Humane Society, Amy Gruber, tells 570 News how the money raised by the event helps pets in need.

“Not only with food, shelter and water, but also those pets that come in that have medical issues, it allows us to help those animals and the funding that comes from the Wiggle Waggle Walkathon and other events really goes towards that animal care.”

New to this year’s event, registered walkers will receive a VIP ticket to the ReMax hot air balloon.

There will also be a microchip clinic on site. For $30 dollars you can get your furry friend micro chipped which helps locate your pet if they go missing.

Gruber also says there is a lot of fun things for the whole family to enjoy including a great performance by Four Paws Flying Entertainment and family fun with the KWHS Canine Family Olympics.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. with the walk through to park starting at 11 a.m. at the clock tower. The event wraps up at 2 p.m.
