An auditor will comb through the election expenses of a Woolwich Township councillor.
A citizen committee has voted to have the Waterloo Region Municipal Election Compliance Audit Committee hire an auditor to examine the expenses of Scott Hahn from the last municipal election.
At issue is whether Hahn was in contravention of the Election Act when he did not claim some expenses for signs and brochures that were covered in part by family members.
He maintains, at the time, he had been told the materials were free.
The Record reports, Hahn has said he will not appeal the committee’s decision in court.
